*There are many modifications for this exercise. Please consult your Physical Therapist to see what the best option for your child is along with sets and repetitions.
Have your child sit on a firm pillow with one leg on either side (Position 1). You want the pillow to be high enough that the child’s feet do not touch the ground. Place your hand on your child’s hips to provide stability. Lean child from side to side allowing them to use their core muscle to maintain an upright position (Position 2 & 3).

Alternatives: If you have a yoga ball available, you can substitute it for the pillow. This can be helpful if your child compresses the pillow too much.
Advancing Exercise: If your child I able to maintain an upright posture easily you can have a second person in front of them that they can reach for or toss a ball back and forth with.
